Memorial Day Weekend Style Guide
Memorial Day Weekend Style Guide
Ahh, Memorial Day Weekend, one of our favorite holidays of the year! It is a time to celebrate, relax, and reflect. It’s also the unofficial launch of summer and a guaranteed three-day weekend (we’re looking at you, Wednesday, July 4th 2018… wtf?!). We hope your schedule is filled with friends, family, parties and barbecues. Here is a little guide we put together with our friend Seth Hartman (@mycreativelook) on how to dress for an action-packed weekend.
1) Weekend BBQ
Memorial Day Weekend is also the unofficial
kickoff of barbecue season and your first chance to show off your newest summer gear. Here’s a tip: Prints and patterns are in, but don’t over do it. If you’re going to wear a pair of novelty printed or embroidered shorts throw on a solid shirt. You can even layer it like we did here.

2) The Night Out
Time to break out your summer whites. This linen on linen combo will keep you cool and stylish at the same time. Tonal whites can work together if you mix in a little color somewhere else in the outfit. And trust us, you NEED a summer blazer in your life.
3) The Night In
Some of our favorite summer nights are spent with close friends laughing at the dinner table or cozying up around the fire pit. Staying in isn’t an excuse to let your guard down. Keep it simple in a clean white henley and dark jeans and have your friends wondering how you look so comfortable yet put together at the same time.
4) The Party Shirt
Like we said earlier, if you’re going to wear something loud, make sure the rest of your outfit is simple. Don’t be the guy that overdoes it (that’s a good rule for just about everything). If you’re going to sport a printed shirt pair it up with some basic shorts or chinos. Pattern on pattern is rarely acceptable.
5) The Hangover
Monday Night 8:30PM. It’s around this time that reality starts creeping back in. We recommend fighting it off by cozying up on the couch with a glass of wine, some leftovers, and some Netflix. And remember, it's only four days ‘till Friday!
